Spring New Student Orientation

This Orientation program is to help our newest Eagles become familiar with our campus while gearing up for academic success. The program consists of a one-day orientation in which the new students meet their faculty and classmates as well as important staff at St. Joseph’s College. Through discussions with student leaders, a presentation of campus resources, networking, and finalizing academic needs. The day will encompass a First Year and transfer program.

10 a.m. – Welcome Session
McGann Conference Center

  • Welcome: Dr. Donald Boomgaarden, College President
  • Academic Life Introduction: Dr. Wendy Turgeon, Interim Executive Dean
  • Student Life, FERPA and Title IX Introduction: Dr. Rose Mary Howell, Vice President for Student Life
  • Financial Aid Presentation (FAFSA, Loan Information, Billing and etc.): Amy Thompson, Director of Financial Aid
  • Orientation Overview: Bryan Gill, Executive Director of Student Involvement, Leadership and Multicultural Programming
  • Student Welcome: James Kay, Student Orientation Chairperson

10:45 a.m. – Keynote Speaker: Bert Gervais
McGann Conference Center

Noon – Lunch

  • Raffles will be called
  • Meet with the Orientation Leaders

12:45 p.m. – New Student Workshop
McGann Conference Center

The New Student Workshop will provide new students with information about the college, programs, technical resources, a question and answer period and how to navigate the campus.

2 p.m. – Meet and Greet Reception
Student Hospitality Lounge

  • Raffles
  • Meet staff members from various college offices
  • Music and Light Refreshments
  • Campus Tours Available
  • ID Card Distribution: 2 p.m. in Room 7 SGA/CAB Office

Administrative offices and bookstore will be open until 5 p.m.
